Frequently asked questions
My opener is from the 80s or 90s — can you even get parts for it?
Usually there's no point trying — those units are long past being supported for parts. We replace them outright with a modern belt-drive opener, which typically costs less than a specialty repair would anyway.
My old opener doesn't have auto-reverse safety sensors — is that a problem?
Yes, that's a real safety gap by today's standards. If your opener predates sensor eyes at the bottom of the track, we strongly recommend replacing it. It's one of the most common upgrades we do in older Nepean homes.
Will the new opener work with my existing door?
